Pharmacy technician job openings

Pharmacy technician job openings

There are a number of ways to search for pharmacy technician job openings. This can be done before you’ve taken the national exam while you’re in training or after you’ve taken your exam and know that you’ve passed.
Depending on the employer, most require that you’ve passed the exam. Some, such as in retail settings may have current needs and may hire you while you’re in class.

However, the question still remains, how and where do you look for pharmacy technician job openings? The list below displays the most common search methods.

• Newspapers
• Friends & acquaintances
• Internet (Fast & easy) Click to see example

Newspapers - As I mentioned earlier on the home page, one way to look for pharmacy technician job openings is to look in your local newspaper especially the Sunday paper, these seem to have more ads listed.
A lot of newspaper publications nowadays have an online version as well so it is worth it to check that in addition to the print publication.

Friends & acquaintances – These individuals can prove to be a great resource especially if they already work as a pharmacy technician. Most technicians develop a good relationship with the pharmacists they work with and other management and may also be able to put in a good word for you if they know about your interest in working as a pharmacy technician, your abilities, work ethics etc.

Internet – This in my experience is by far the best and quickest way to search for pharmacy technician job openings.
Why?
• Because most employers nowadays prefer to use the internet to display their ads either exclusively or in addition to the newspaper.
• Second, most newspapers have an online version as well, which you can access to search for pharmacy technician job openings in case you don't have time to stop and pick up a print newspaper.
• Third, the internet is open 24/7 and you are able to access it at anytime and still get things done.
• Fourth, the search results come back immediately for you to act on.
• Fifth, there are a lot more pharmacy technician job openings posted online than what you’ll find in the newspaper.
• Sixth, once you have your desired listings you are then able to directly apply for the particular job opening(s) with the employer, this is advantageous and makes things easier for you because in reality it can be a tedious affair trying to contact the HR(Human Resources) dept. of pharmacy employers to even obtain an application let alone set up an interview, plus, you might have to physically go to a specific location to pick up the application etc.
So, the internet makes things a whole lot easier for everyone, employers and candidates alike.

Jobs are submitted by employers to online job search engines which in turn distribute the jobs postings through out their networks.
Online job search engines also provide the facility of posting your resume, this is important because when you decide to apply for a position whether via the internet or physically, employers want to see a resume first.
Some job search engines will also create what are called “job alerts” for you where anytime a job is posted by an employer that fits what you're looking for which in this case would be pharmacy technician job openings you’ll receive an email alerting you that an employer has posted a job fitting the criteria you specified.
Some also offer resume creation and distribution services and hold career fairs as well.

At this point you might be wondering, “which one is the best job search engine out there?” To find out click on the following link Best job search engine (a new window will open) and come back to this page.
I have personally had great success with this job search engine and I recommend it in my online pharmacy technician class to my students as well.

NOTE: My pharmacy technician training website contains a page called “job resources” which links directly to the job search engine, and is therefore advantageous for my students when they apply for jobs or post their resumes through my website since the job search engine may pass data to the employer as far as where they (the employer) are receiving candidates’ inquiries or resume posts from, so as far as my students’ are concerned they have had great success by applying for jobs and posting their resume through my site since the employer knows that Rx Learning.com is an established site and therefore are more likely to look at candidates resumes, since candidates coming from this site are qualified and worth their time.
Employers have very little patience, in case you haven’t noticed.:)

The reason for my selection of this particular job search engine is because they have a large and comprehensive database of employers in every major industry; of course this includes the pharmaceutical industry.
Jobs can be searched by keyword e.g. Pharmacy technician job openings or by selecting a specific state and then entering pharmacy technician job openings.
You can even set up job alerts (see above for definition of job alert), post your resume, create a resume, distribute a resume, find out information on career fairs in your area, get advice and much more... this is one of the nations largest employment networks and the bottom line is they deliver concrete results.
IMPORTANT:
Before applying for a job, make sure you have a current resume made up because you will have to submit it when you apply for a job otherwise employers will not even glance at your application if there isn’t a resume attached.
